Description
Inspector Morse is a melancholy, enigmatic and romantic man who never uses his first name and who finds solace in real ale, classical music and difficult crosswords. Together with his able Sergeant Lewis, Morse uses his considerable intellect and passion for truth and justice to investigate death and murder in the English university town of Oxford. (Greeks bearing gifts) Oxford's closely knit Greek community closes ranks when the chef at Seargeant Lewis's favourite Greek restaurant is found dead and a baby goes missing. (Promised land) The search for ex-informant Kenny Stone takes Morse and Lewis to Australia, where a routine inquiry becomes an ordeal of suspense, death and kidnapping. (Dead on time) A simple suicide turns into a murder investigation with only one man seemingly capable of having committed the crime.
