Description
Inspector Morse is a melancholy, enigmatic and romantic man who never uses his first name and who find solace in real ale, classical music, and difficult crosswords. Together with his able sergeant Lewis, Morse uses his considerable intellect and passion for truth and justice to investigate death and murder in the English university town of Oxford. (Happy families) When Sir John Balcombe is found murdered at the rural family estate, Morse and Lewis quickly notice that his wife and sons show no signs of grief. (The death of self) To the delight of Morse and the dismay of Lewis, they are sent to Italy to investigate the death of a popular novelist and Oxford resident, May Lawerence. (Absolute conviction) Morse and Lewis go behind the bars of Farnleigh experimental prison to investigate the suspicious death of an inmate convicted of fraud.
