Best friends Mary Ann Page and Kolleen Kelly are nervous and excited as their sixth-grade year slowly draws to a close. What will seventh grade at Hubert H. Humphrey Junior High School be like? How will the kids dress? How will they behave? What will the teachers be like? Mary Ann and Kolleen are looking forward to a visit from Mr. Dodge, the junior high principal, during which all their questions will be answered. But Mr. Dodge's visit to Pine Bend Elementary is abruptly postponed after the junior high school is attacked by vandals.
